Some updated photos...

Last weekend we got our Evaporative Cooler installed. So exciting, we even got a photo of the guy installing it :-) Again, Thanks!

The last week has been pretty quiet. The weather has been pretty horrible so its been good that nothing was really planned. The roof just needs to be completed at the front of the house. Only a small amount left with it mainly being the drain pipes that need to be finished.

This photo is from yesterday after the scaffolding has been removed from the rear of the property. You can see the house properly now, and it looks like a house :-)

Next week the upstairs weatherboarding will begin. Brickies will be back the following week so in a few weeks we should be at lockup :-)

Plumbing done.. Roof starts

Went to the block during my lunch break from work, and found that the plumbing seems to have been completed. All the water pipes seem to be where they should be, and the gas is done too. Glad to see that water pipes have been run for where the AirCon unit will be going, and also the gas pipes runs to the balcony where we want our natural gas point for our BBQ :-)

Roofers started yesterday getting the roof ready, and today the colorbond is on the top part of the house.

Roof Trusses complete... Some more diggin

The roof trusses are complete. The roof is now over the balcony which you can kinda see in one of the photos below.

This morning was spent doing some more diggin at the block. I had previously done the sides of the house, with only the front remaining. I had a bit of help this morning from Johnnyboy which made things a lot easier. Thanks for your help :-)

Before
After
Having the crushed rock around the house makes the whole thing look a lot neater and cleaner. The above 2 photos really show off how much better things look.

Systems are all go for the next couple of weeks. Arriving on Monday will be the windows and doors which will all be put in. Roof will start on Wednesday, and will be finished by the end of the week. On Saturday our Evap Cooler will be installed as long as the weather

More roof.. and portico :-)

More roof was done today, and the portico has been constructed. All that really needs to happen now is for the balcony to be built up higher and fall under the roof line. That should be done by lunchtime tomorrow :-)

The scaffolding at the back of the house around the balcony is fairly impressive.

I have been corrected, and the windows will be delivered and installed on Monday.

And a roof starts...

The last week not much has happened at the block. The only thing to happen, is some work i have actually done myself. I have dug out and level the sides of the house, and filled it with crushed rock. Below are 2 photos of the same area. The first before i started, and the second after the crushed rock has been laid. Makes it look a little bit neater :-)
Today, the chippies were back and our roof is starting to take place.

And on a slightly different note. While we still don't have windows yet, we do have window keys :-) Although the windows aren't far away. Word on the street is they will be delivered on 12th April, so only 2 days away :-)

Some more photos...

Nothing has happened today... but actually took some proper photos rather than with a crappy phone.

Photo from the second level, showing where our sliding and stacker door will be and you can see the frame for the Balcony.

Our pantry. I think i will need a bigger lolly bowl.

Looking at the house from the back of the block...

While this photo might not seem like much, this is part of our backyard. Very few of the houses around the area have any real backyard space at all. All you need to do is have a look on nearmap at the area to see how little backyard space most of the houses have around here.

Frame Complete

The Frame is now complete. Surprisingly, this is the only photo i have from the side on. Considering how many photos I have been taking, this is rather surprising :-)

Above 3 photos were taken yesterday. Top one shows our new Magnolia trees on our nature strip. Second shows is taken standing on a garbage skip and you can see the top level of the house. While it is hard to see, the only internal walls on the top level is the pantry. Its currently looking pretty big :-) Third is looking down to the lower level where the stairs will be.

Above is a stitched panoramic photo. Its done pretty badly too :-) You can see where all the joins in the photos are... but still. It gives an idea of what we can see. To the left before any of the houses start you can see the park they should be starting very soon. On the very right you see the frame for our next door neighbour. Where this photo is taken from you can't see much, but out on the balcony you will be able to see the You Yangs, and i would be surprised if anything on any other block will be able to block that view.

From the sounds of it, nothing will be done this week. Tuesday after Easter the roof trusses should be delivered and installed, with windows going in as well. Its very fast approaching the point where we will refer to it as 'the house' instead of 'the block'.
